A 14 day mandated quarantine is also required upon entering the state and before your arrival to the Inn unless a negative COVID-19 Test result is obtained PRIOR to your arrival.

Get Away Safely to the Inn at Yarmouth Port

We want you to explore the beauty of Cape Cod with a stay at The Inn at Yarmouth Port! Although our lives over the past several months may differ from person to person, one thing is certainly the same, we all want to be safe while enjoying some much-needed relaxation time with those we love! To this end, we want you to know as you consider booking with us, how we are addressing COVID-19, and what you can expect during your stay at The Inn at Yarmouth Port.

Most things, the things that really matter, will be the same. That feeling of sudden relaxation as you walk through the front door of our historic sea captain’s home, the smell of Kathleen’s homemade baked goods wafting through the house, the softness of your bed linens and the sophisticated elegance of your surroundings; it’s all here waiting for you whether you’ve been here before or you’re a first time guest!

We’ve used a portion of our quarantine time to improve our outdoor spaces and give you more reasons to rejuvenate on the grounds of the property to wonder at the extraordinary gifts Nature has to offer.

A few things will, however, operate a bit differently to keep you and our staff safe. We also want you to know what to expect when coming to our area and what is expected by our state. Our new operating procedures follow the MA Safety Standards for Operators of Lodging issued on May 29, 2020 by the Governor’s Reopening Task Force and will continue to evolve as the reopening phases of Massachusetts continue. Flexibility on all parts will be important as we navigate vacationing this summer. We will work hard to keep up on what is open and available and will begin posting more detailed information shortly on our website.

Check-in/Check-out/ Use of Common Spaces

We will be here upon your arrival! However, we will be welcoming you at a 6-foot distance and wearing masks. You will be expected to also wear a mask whenever you are enjoying the common areas of the Inn around others not traveling with you. Massachusetts mandates this practice and all Cape Cod establishments will require masks/face coverings of customers when social distancing is not possible. Please bring your own face covering. Don’t worry if you forget yours, just like any other forgotten item, we’ve got you covered (pun intended!) Disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer will be available for guest use while at the Inn.

Breakfast & Snacks

The word is out that breakfast at The Inn at Yarmouth Port is something special and we plan to keep it that way! What’s different will be the 6 foot spacing of our tables both inside and outside. Guests will be asked to commit to a time by 5pm the day prior. Breakfast times start at 8:00-9:15 in 15 min increments to accommodate occupancy requirements. Please note all tables are for up to two guests. As always, the breakfast menu is a mouthwatering single entrée plus two other courses. The menu will be posted as usual in the dining room the day before. Our homemade granola and toasted oatmeal option are available daily and with advanced notice, we will continue to support any dietary restrictions. We will not be offering room service at this time, but you may request a continental breakfast to go in advance if you’re heading out early on an adventure.

Servers will be wearing masks and gloves when serving, and you’ll notice a few other changes in the way we serve breakfast that are designed to maximize safety. The inn maintains its ServSafe Certification and follows all food handling best practices.

Our guests will continue to enjoy pre-packaged snacks and a refillable glass bottle of filtered water in your room as the self-serve food and beverage area will be discontinued per our state guidelines. Don’t worry, you won’t miss the daily baked treats, we serve individually packaged baked goods and coffee/tea service upon request between 3pm-6pm daily. Ice is available upon request and there will be no common area refrigeration available for the time being.

Housekeeping and Cleaning

Anyone who has experienced the Inn already knows how incredibly clean and rigorous our housekeeping procedures are. We will continue to use the highest quality cleaning products recommended by the CDC to prepare your room. We will meet and exceed all the COVID-19 industry specific and health department regulations that are needed to ensure your safety. We will continue to routinely clean high-touch areas throughout our common spaces and we encourage you to use the provided wipes and sanitizer to enhance safety for all guests. Extra liquid hand soap for hand washing in your room will also be provided.

In general, daily tidy service in your room will be discontinued unless otherwise requested or arrangements are made in advance. Extra room items such as throw pillows, extra blankets, robes, steamers, books, and other non-essential items are removed from the rooms but available upon request. Single-use laundry bags for used towels and linens will be provided. When new towels are needed, you’ll simply put the towels in the bag and place them just outside the door of your room as a sign to replace them with new towels. You’ll place your trash daily outside the door before you leave for the day. Staff will enter the room only to replace fresh towels. Personal laundry services are not provided at this time. If you need extra amenities, they will be available upon request.

All staff will be trained in proper hygiene, safety and operating protocols as outlined by the MA Safety Standards for Operators of Lodging issued on May 29, 2020 by the Governor’s Reopening Task Force. Sector Guidelines continue to evolve and are subject to change without notice. Your flexibility is greatly appreciated. Please review our other policies for additional information.
