The Old King’s Highway or Historic 6A, runs east to west from Sandwich to Orleans and has hundreds of buildings and artifacts dating back to the late 1600’s. One popular stretch of 6A is called, The Captain’s Mile which begins in Yarmouth Port and features over 50 homes built by the sea captain’s who settled the villages of the Cape. Many of the homes, including the Inn at Yarmouth Port, are listed on the National Federal Register of Historic Places and are historically significant. We enjoying telling those interested about the history of our inn and what we’ve learned about the original sea captain who built this fine home in 1843.
Smaller Place with Fewer People
Typically, a B and B is a much smaller accommodation than a hotel. The Inn at Yarmouth Port has 7 guest rooms all with king-sized beds, private baths and are double occupancy. This means that the maximum number of other people you might encounter is 14 plus our staff. We stagger breakfast times so that we limit the number people on the patio or in the dining room, which gives our guests a more intimate dining experience. A spacious outdoor common area lends itself to private nooks for raising a glass and relaxing in style.

Gourmet multi-course breakfasts are an event at our luxury Inn. You’ll dine on freshly baked muffins, scones, homemade jams and jellies. Our creative entrees feature local produce and high-quality ingredients. You won’t find cold continental or crusty buffets here.
