An Old Fashioned Holiday Festival at Taylor Bray Farm
Looking for an old fashioned Holiday Festival on Cape Cod? Come stay at The Inn at Yarmouth Port then head just a few miles down the road at Taylor Bray Farm. Every season, the farm hosts its Holiday Festival. The barn is filled with delicious delights like homemade jams, jellies and baked goods. Additionally there are handmade crafts like wreaths, centerpieces and knit items. All items are made locally by volunteers. This fun afternoon is certain to help get you into the holiday spirit. While there, grab a hayride and purchase a Christmas tree! The event will be held rain or shine on December 7 & 8 on the Farm grounds.
Don’t forget to visit the animals! The farm is home to several four legged characters that are beloved by the community. Chloe is a giant Scottish Highland Cow and Dusty is the sweetest goat! The farm itself dates back to 1783 and was owned by Samuel Taylor after returning from the Revolutionary war. The farmhouse can be toured and was recently renovated to include some historic period pieces. Interestingly, an archaeology project on site discovered that the farm site was inhabited by Native Americans for at least 10,0000 years as indicated by artifacts found on the property.
After visiting the farm and experiencing this Holiday Festival on Cape Cod, head back to the Inn to get ready for a cozy dinner out at one of our neighboring restaurants open all year. Ask your innkeeper to help point you in the direction of the nearest dining spot with roaring fire and a traditional hearty New England meal!
