Experience the Magic of the Season on the Cape!
Ever wonder what it’s like to live in a New England seaside village during the holiday season? A Cape Cod winter boasts typically milder temperatures and much less snow than even just 20 miles away! We’ve chosen three of our favorite holiday happenings on Cape Cod to experience this season. Couple these with one of our specials and you’ve got a winning getaway!
Cape Cod Holiday Activities at Heritage Gardens | Gardens Aglow
Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 4:30 pm- 8:30 pm from November 29 thru December 29th, the Heritage Museum and Gardens celebrates the season with Gardens Aglow, a festival of lights! One of our favorite holiday happenings on Cape Cod and tradition not to be missed, the event features light displays within the gardens as well as inside holiday decor. Additionally, there are activities throughout the grounds and galleries including an amazing model train display. You can even toast marshmallows on the outdoor fire pit or take a ride on the vintage carousel. Imagine an old fashioned stroll through a winter wonderland with those you cherish. Afterwards, make your way back to the Inn for some hot chocolate, cookies and snuggle on the couch. Choose your room at the Inn at Yarmouth Port, then take your favorite person to this classic New England celebration of light and enjoy other Cape Cod holiday activities while you visit!
An Old Fashioned Holiday Festival at Taylor Bray Farm
Looking for an old fashioned Holiday Festival on Cape Cod? Head just a few miles down the road at Taylor Bray Farm. Every season, the farm hosts its Holiday Festival. The barn is filled with delicious delights like homemade jams, jellies and baked goods. Additionally, there are handmade crafts like wreaths, centerpieces and knit items. All items are made locally by volunteers. This fun afternoon is certain to help get you into the holiday spirit. The event will be held rain or shine on December 7 & 8 on the Farm grounds.
After visiting the farm, head back to the Inn to get ready for a cozy dinner out at one of our neighboring restaurants open all year. Ask your innkeeper to help point you in the direction of the nearest dining spot with roaring fire and a traditional hearty New England meal!
The Cape Symphony Presents “Holiday on the Cape”
This season, “Holiday on the Cape” is presented by The Cape Symphony following the tradition of a Bob Hope television special. Created as a special tribute to our armed forces serving overseas during the holidays, the performance will feature the Chatham Chorale, Cape vocalists Jessica Curran, Jenn Dashnaw and Anna McEntee as the Andrews Sisters, and Boston-based John Stevens as Bing Crosby. Additionally, there’s even a toy drive at the event to help military families. Performances are December 6-8. All concerts are held in the 1400-seat Barnstable Performing Arts Center in Hyannis, MA which is just a 15 minute drive from the Inn at Yarmouth Port. Choose one of our luxurious guest rooms as your home-base for this seasonal delight.
Grab dinner prior to the show at one of our local restaurants. After the show, head back to the Inn for a beverage of your choice and some warm pumpkin spice bread. Relax with your partner and get ready for the upcoming season feeling renewed and refreshed.
